From the suave and sophisticated roles to the charming and romantic ones, Ryan Gosling has truly earned his place in Hollywood. With an impressive career spanning two decades, the Canadian actor has starred in a variety of films, including the iconic romantic comedy, Crazy, Stupid, Love. In this movie, Gosling’s character, Jacob, uses his signature move, the Dirty Dancing lift, to win over the heart of his love interest, Hannah. But what many people don’t know is that this scene was actually inspired by Gosling’s own experience. He had once used this move to impress a girl and the directors decided to include it in the movie. With his impressive dancing skills and charming personality, Gosling has become one of Hollywood’s most beloved actors, and his fans have enjoyed watching him bring his characters to life.
We have to say it! Hollywood’s most romantic hero, Ryan Gosling, there are some really fascinating moves. Starting from scratch and gradually reaching heights, the 42-year-old Canadian actor has really enjoyed his career. He is the man every girl wants to be with and every man wants to be like. Gosling is also a trained dancer. And much to our delight, Ken of the new generation has never shied away from showcasing his talent both in life and in cinema.
In his 2011 romantic comedy Madness, Stupidity, Love, he developed the image of his talent with absolute perfection. Just to refresh your memory, Gosling played Jacob, a serial, suave seducer of women with a lot of charisma. It wasn’t until Hannah (Emma Stone) walked in that Jacob fell in love. Now, if you recall, there was a scene where Hannah asks what his seductive technique is to win women over, and he replies, “Dirty dancing.” And just a moment later they imitated the infamous climb in the most incredible way. But did you know that this wasn’t the only time Gosling starred in Dirty Dancing?
Madness, Stupidity, Love Inspired ‘Dirty Dancing’ on Ryan Gosling’s True Tactics
Apparently, as early as 2019, the directors Glenn Ficarra and John Requa told Entertainment Weekly that Gosling only had to groom Stone with a seductive look. However, when they sat down with him to discuss the script, the La La Land actor talked about the time he actually did the Dirty Dancing exercise to impress a girl. And at the same moment they decided: “Okay, I’m going to the movies!” And although Gosling initially resisted, this scene became a fan favorite.
In particular, a screenwriter Dan Fogelman then created the scene on paper using Gosling’s patented swoon-inducing motion. The director also said that the two actors had practiced for several weeks to perfect the lift and therefore did not need any stunt doubles. “It’s harder than it looks, and it’s scary. Ryan really works hard. He’s a trained dancer, so he focused on making Emma feel safe,” Ficarra explained.
