Cebu Provincial Association of Accredited Cooperatives (CPAAC) led by Pres. Elias O. Baquero gave a certificate of appreciation to @GovJunjunDavide for recognizing CPAAC and providing resources including a cooperative building worth Php 15 million.
Mission of CPAAC
Cebuanos should know that the Cebu Provincial Association of Accredited Cooperatives (CPAAC) is still in existence and credible throughout the province of Cebu.
CPAAC was organized on 20.02.2015 during a meeting convened by Adv. Herculean Rizon, the Cooperatives Consultant of the Cebu Provincial Government during the administration of Governor Hilario “Junjun” David III. He is now the acting lieutenant governor.
CPAAC’s vision is to “partner with all cooperatives accredited by the Cebu Provincial Government so that they have one solid voice.”
CPAAC’s mission is to engage and provide new guidance and serve as a body for discussion of cooperative sector issues and proposed plans, programs and activities and to accelerate participation and linkages among cooperatives, which are the true drivers of development in the province of Cebu.

What is the purpose of choosing a COOP?
The CPAAC passed a resolution proposing to amend the Cebu Provincial Accreditation Ordinance through former board member Jude Thaddeus Durano Sibico, then chairman of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan Committee on Cooperatives, and to add a provision thereto requiring mandatory membership of accredited cooperatives for the CPAAC.
This means that once a cooperative is accredited, it automatically becomes a member of CPAAC. Based on records from the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA), there are 583 cooperatives in the province of Cebu with more than 245,000 cooperators, but so far only 67 of them are accredited with the CPAAC.
In October 2015, Rizon called on the CPAAC to elect cooperative representatives from among themselves. Since there are six cooperative districts in the province of Cebu, one representative each was elected for Districts 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6.
The purpose of electing the cooperative district representative is to recommend them to Governor David for appointment as members of the Cebu Provincial Cooperative Development Council (CPCDC).
