Charlton Athletic manager Dean Holden has backed Manchester United to win the Champions League Cup.

Holden revealed his position following United’s 3-0 win over his side. United scored goals thanks to Anthony and Marcus Rashford double.

Holden, who turned out to be a huge United fan and even a season ticket holder for several decades, described managing Old Trafford as a magical experience.

The Charlton the boss said: β€œIt was just magical [managing the team at Old Trafford]. It was an amazing experience. I have been sitting in the four corners of this stadium for many years [as a fan] and I never thought I would ever end up in the tech field.

β€œMy father is standing next to me. He is 70 years old, he comes here [Old Trafford] more than 60 years.”

Holden added: β€œI spent 10 or 15 minutes with Ten Hag after the game. My respect for him is even greater.

The 43-year-old revealed details of his meeting with Ten Hag and the incredible gesture the United manager made towards him.

Holden said Ten Hug invited him to his office after the game where they had a discussion.
