Charlton Athletic manager Dean Holden has backed Manchester United to win the Champions League Cup.

Holden revealed his position following United’s 3-0 win over his side. United scored goals thanks to Anthony and Marcus Rashford double.

Holden, who turned out to be a huge United fan and even a season ticket holder for several decades, described managing Old Trafford as a magical experience.

The Charlton the boss said: “It was just magical [managing the team at Old Trafford]. It was an amazing experience. I have been sitting in the four corners of this stadium for many years [as a fan] and I never thought I would ever end up in the tech field.

“My father is standing next to me. He is 70 years old, he comes here [Old Trafford] more than 60 years.”

Holden added: “I spent 10 or 15 minutes with Ten Hag after the game. My respect for him is even greater.
