MBC “Kokdu: The season of the deity” is a new fantasy novel that tells the story of a grim reaper named Kokdu (Kim Jung Hyun) who descends into this world to punish humans every 99 years. When Kokdu meets Han Gye-jeol (Im Soo-hyang), a doctor with mysterious abilities, he starts working as a doctor at home.
The drama’s fourth teaser opens with Han Gye-jeol introducing himself. Despite her stressful life as a doctor, Han Ge-jeol always remains bright and cheerful. In contrast, Kokdu feels isolated and alone, standing on the dry road of the underworld. Considering they are from two different worlds and lead completely different lifestyles, how will Han Gye-jeol and Kokdu’s paths cross?
Although the powerful Kokdu wants to maintain his cold and intimidating image, he quickly learns that this is impossible with Han Gye-jeol. When she yells at him to get down on his knees and apologize to her, Kokdu scoffs at the ridiculous request, but is shocked when his body moves on its own, obeying her commands.
It is unclear whether Han Gye-jeol is aware of the power she holds over Kokdu, but a strange phenomenon keeps happening when he has no choice but to help her. Even as he complains, Kok-du doesn’t seem to leave Han Gye-jeol, teasing their blossoming relationship.
In the end, Kokdu boldly suggests, “Let’s try to get to know each other.” Han Gye-jeol hesitates and replies, “If you want to date me, provide some proof. Proof that we were meant to be.” Kokdu confidently replies, “Should we check right now? Let’s kiss.”
