The young musician shared the tragic news on her page in the social network with the words:

“My beloved great-grandmother passed away! And my heart is broken…

She was my last great grandmother and great grandmother and I miss her so much! She played a big role in my life! She was there when I was born and until I was 6 she took care of me whenever I stayed at her house!

When we moved to the US 8 years ago from Ukraine, I never thought I wouldn’t see her again…

She was a very big fan of my violin music!

She watched all my videos and knew which ones got the most views! She has called us every week since we moved in to see how we are doing…

I miss my great grandmother very much and it breaks my heart that I never got the chance to hold her and see her beautiful eyes and play my violin for her before she passed away….

I love you Babushka Zhenya!!!

Who was Karolina Protsenko?

Karolina Protsenko is a young musician who performs violin renditions of famous songs. Protsenko is 13 years old, born on October 3, 2008 in Ukraine in a musical family.

Both her parents are musicians. When Karolina was 6 years old, the family moved to the United States in 2015.

She began taking violin lessons that year and has a classical background. In the summer of 2017, Carolina began traveling in Santa Monica, California.

She is on Facebook and Instagram and has three YouTube channels. She now has more than 10 million fans worldwide, spread over more than 50 countries, in less than 4 years.

More than 1 billion people have watched her videos on YouTube and other media websites, with more than 1 billion views. She has two brothers.

I am so sorry for your loss, there really are no words to express such feelings. My father died when I was only 16 years old, 48 years ago. Your music is great, what a gift you have. Be healthy, be happy and remember all the family that came before you. My grandfather, my father’s father, came to America in 1909 as a young man, although I never met him, I also think about him often.
