Noel Gallagher said he would “never say never” at the Oasis reunion.
The former Oasis guitarist and co-vocalist, who today (January 17) announced his upcoming album with the High Flying Birds, ‘Council Skies’, left the band in 2009, saying he “simply couldn’t go on” working with his brother you’re liam Gallagher.
“Never say never,” Noel told BBC Radio Manchester today (January 17), but added that “it would require extraordinary circumstances”.
“That doesn’t mean these circumstances will never arise,” he added.
Last October, Noel said there was “no point” in Oasis getting back together because the band still sell “as many records now” as when they were together.
Brother Liam, by contrast, has been vocal in recent years about his support for an Oasis reunion. In February 2022, Liam said Oasis “never should have broken up” and that he would “love” the iconic band to get back together.
Last year, Liam said he would revive Oasis for free after Noel put his £100m price tag on getting the band back together.
Noel then responded by saying he didn’t believe Oasis should get back together because the band’s legacy was “set in stone”.
In a 2020 NME Big Read cover story, Liam also said that an Oasis reunion would happen “pretty damn soon” because he believes Noel is “greedy and he loves money and he knows he has to happen soon or it won’t happen. to happen.”
The brothers were embroiled in a fresh feud late last year after Liam claimed there were no Oasis songs in his documentary about Nebworth 22 because “evil squirt” Noel Gallagher “blocked” them. Liam also recently hit back at critics for singing Oasis songs at concerts.

“It’s back to the beginning. Dreaming, looking up at the sky and thinking about what life could be… that’s as true for me now as it was in the early ’90s,” Gallagher explained of the upcoming album.
“When I grew up in poverty and unemployment, music got me out of it. Top Of The Pops on TV has turned Thursday nights into a fantasy world and I think music should be just that. I want my music to uplift and transform in some way.”
