But now The Athletic’s Mario Cortegana has revealed the price tag set by PSG for their number 7 as Liverpool have been linked again after the 24-year-old put pen to paper.
In July, Mbappe “expressed discomfort to the management about the direction PSG is going, demanding a “good enough team to seriously challenge for the Champions League title”.
This led to PSG’s decision to “open the door for him, but not for Real Madrid”.
Then, according to Cortegana, Liverpool made another request, but president Nasser Al-Khelaifi and transfer consultant Antero Enrique said any deal would cost €400 million.
That’s not a typo: €400 million, or around £350 million.
Of course, to be honest, this is an exorbitant fee for any player, regardless of the ability of a talent like Mbappe.
