The new song is the Swedish-Australian duo’s first new music since their 2018 album Immortelle and the first of a batch of new material expected to be released this year.
Discussing the new track, the duo – twins Miranda and Electra Kilby – said: “Waiting for a Boy came from a very natural and sincere place in both of us and the process reminded us of the early days of writing songs for Say Lou Lou – a sense of ease , excitement and urgency.

On lead single and opener “Ana,” this panther-like trip-hop Portishead is at its most ragged and menacing when the musicians sing about how longing is driving them crazy.

In an interview with NME dedicated to the release of this album, Say Lou Lou said how they felt “a sense of revolution in the air”. no matter how fluid they want to be. It lets people see that the old way was very, very limited.”
