Sheikh Jaber Al-Basaisi and all his family members died in a painful road accident.

They were returning from performing umrah rituals.

The speeding truck collided with a car carrying them on a road near the seaside town of Al Kunfuda.

Dr. Mohamed Salah shared the sad news on social media saying

“Sheikh Jaber Al-Basaisi and all his family members died in a painful road accident while returning from performing Umrah rites!!

May Allah have mercy on them and accept them among the righteous. Anas reported that the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said:

“When Allah wills good for a slave, He puts it into action.” It was said: “How do you make it work, O Messenger of Allah?” He said, “By making him meet the righteous deeds before death.”

Many Saudis expressed their grief over the passing of the imam and his family online in condolence posts.

Some mourners shared the late cleric’s speeches on video.

The senior cleric’s death was also mourned by Abdul Latif al-Sheikh, Saudi Arabia’s minister of Islamic affairs.

The teachers and students of Ahmad’s Quran Memorization School Complex expressed their deep sorrow over his death. Ahmad was a ninth grade student there.

According to Darwish Al Maghrabi, the head of the institution, he set an example for the students with his morals and desire for knowledge.

Al Maghrabi expressed respect for the late cleric and praised him as a good and useful person. The victims were buried after an Islamic funeral prayer at the Grand Mosque.
