Ferguson is a 32-year-old man currently facing arson charges in connection with the K. Kelly case.
Ferguson was identified by police as a person of interest in the disappearance of 33-year-old Kelly.
They claim he dated McKinney née Kelly. When they first met online, Ferguson misled Kelly about his marital status, according to the arrest report.
The story also claims Kelly learned Ferguson was married after they started dating. According to the affidavit, she allegedly informed him that she would tell his wife the truth.
Case of Missing Kayla Kelly:
Kayla Kelly, a 33-year-old woman, was reported missing on January 11. Kelly’s colleagues and acquaintances reported her missing last Wednesday, January 11, after not hearing from her.
A day after she was reported missing, her burned-out car was found in a secluded area of the Dallas suburb of Frisco.
“While we desperately hoped for a different outcome, I am grateful for the dogged determination of my deputies and our Texas Rangers to locate Ms. Kelly,” Collin County Sheriff Jim Skinner said in the news release.
Kelly found dead:
A week later, duct tape, gloves and a blanket were found in Ferguson’s car by Collin County detectives. He was then charged with kidnapping.
On Jan. 19, a new arson charge was filed after Grand Prairie detectives found the remains of a woman in a field near the intersection of 360 and I-20. Kelly was found dumped in a field, wrapped in plastic. Less than a mile separates Ferguson’s Grand Prairie home from the field.
Investigators say he and his wife live there. A week after Kelly was reported missing, she was found dead.
The remains, which have not yet been identified, were found in Grand Prairie, Texas, on Wednesday evening. The body will be identified after further forensic examinations.
