Xbox has officially announced the date and time of the Developer Direct (stylized as Developer_Direct), which will be presented by Xbox and Bethesda. This is after some sources said it will happen this month.
Xbox has officially announced Developer Direct. This live stream will allow “an inside look at some of the games coming to Xbox, PC, and Game Pass over the next few months.” The live stream will take place on January 25, 2023 at 12:00 PM PT. Players can tune in to the live stream on the Xbox Twitch and YouTube channels, as well as the Bethesda Twitch and YouTube channels. This version of the Developer Direct will focus on “great features, advanced gameplay demos, and the latest information about Xbox games.” In fact, quite a few studios will be showcasing their games during this live stream. The list includes Arkane Austin, Mojang Studios, Turn 10 Studios and ZeniMax Online Studios.
As of now, four matches have been confirmed to be broadcast live. We don’t know if there will be anything else, but given the way things are worded, we can expect there will be.
Here are the games we’ll definitely see news about. (Taken from the official Xbox website)
- The Elder Scrolls Online: Studio Director Matt Ferrer will unveil a major chapter update for 2023, including the newest regions of Tamriel that will be playable in ESO, as well as an important new feature that will appear in the -big game update this year. The Developer_Direct will be immediately followed by a fully-fledged separate ESO Chapter Reveal event hosted by Zenimax Online Studios, which will present all the detailed information ESO players will want to know.
- Forza Motorsport: The team at Turn 10 Studios has been hard at work creating a new generation of Forza Motorsport, built from the ground up to take advantage of the Xbox Series X|S. Forza Motorsport is back and we can’t wait to share new gameplay and exciting new details.
- Minecraft Legends: Mojang Studios will be showing off an inside look at the multiplayer PvP mode in Minecraft Legends, the upcoming action strategy game from the creators of Minecraft. Developed in collaboration with Blackbird Interactive and released this spring, don’t miss Developer_Direct’s exclusive gameplay footage.
- Redfall: Arkan Austin, author of Dishonored and Prey, will be showing off a few minutes of gameplay from their upcoming first-person shooter. Developer_Direct will be talking about a single-player and multiplayer game, showing how you and your friends will defeat bloodthirsty vampires on picturesque Redfall Island, Massachusetts. Fans can learn more about combat, customization, bosses, open world and much more.
Unfortunately, we will not see any Starfield news during this live stream. They mentioned that they wanted to “dedicate enough time to deep immersion” in the game. So Starfield will get its own separate show.
This Developer Direct is a good and strong move on Microsoft’s part as it is a way for them to showcase their games outside of E3 or other gaming conventions. It is very similar to the Nintendo Direct that gamers are always waiting for. We don’t know yet if this will become a recurring event. However, if it does happen, it could be a step in the right direction.
That’s all the information we have on the upcoming Xbox Developer Direct, from the date and time to Bethesda and other games coming. To know more gaming news from us, you can also check out our gaming news articles.
