Who was Kevin Lemons?
Kevin Lemons was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, and began his music ministry in 1996. He established the now well-known Higher Calling by gathering a few friends and acquaintances in a small church. To put this ministry, aka Kevin Lemons & Higher Calling, on the fast track to success, they worked hard to develop a sound and image that were distinctly their own. Under Kevin’s leadership, Higher Calling embarked on an extensive tour to spread their message of love, unity and the value of spiritual growth.
His grandmother, Annie Ruth Lemons, founded the Atlanta Masonic Choir, which was founded in 1942; his father is a well-known Atlanta choir conductor; his mother, Ruth, was the lead singer. Kevin Lemons & Higher Calling independently released ‘Destined for Greatness’, their debut CD, to widespread acclaim. They then released “The Declaration”, their second single, which reached number 10 on the Billboard Gospel Charts.

How did Kevin Lemons die? Cause of death
Gospel singer and celebrity entertainer Kevin Lemons, 45, died unexpectedly on January 7, 2023, according to his family. At the time of writing this article, the exact cause of Kevin Lemons’ unfortunate death has not been revealed by anyone. Additionally, no information is known regarding the burial of Kevin Lemons.
The official Kevin Lemons and Higher Callings Instagram account wrote a long caption and paid tribute to its founder, saying
“It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our founder, Kevin Lemons,” the family wrote in an Instagram post. They also asked that his wife Tiuna, his family and their ministry, Higher Calling, be remembered in everyone’s prayers.
Everyone is in agony, pain and grief after hearing the news of his sudden demise. It is not yet known where and how he died, and the investigation is ongoing. Kevin Lemons will be remembered as a creative choir director with infectious enthusiasm.
