It was a momentous day in royal history on 19 May 2018 when Prince Harry dived with American actress Meghan Markle. Thousands of people surrounded Windsor Castle to take part in the iconic wedding. Millions witnessed the magnificent ceremony live from the comfort of their homes thanks to the live broadcast. It may surprise you that British racing driver Lewis Hamilton was also one of the many who watched the wedding on television.
Already in 2018 Prince Harry and Meghan Markle charmed the Formula 1 legend. He also admitted he was upset because he missed out on visiting St George’s Castle to witness the wedding. Why did Lewis Hamilton think the Sussex wedding was the best he’d ever seen?
Prince Harry Meghan Markle has brought diversity to the royal family
During a conversation in 2018. Lewis Hamilton said that the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle is a day of pride for the whole world. He welcomed the Duchess of Sussex and also called her entry into the royal family a symbol of positivity and change.
“I watched here over the weekend with just a smile on my face the whole time. It was the best wedding I’ve ever seen, and I’m not a big fan of weddings at all. I avoid them at all costs. But there was one. I really wish I was in England to see that,” Hamilton was quoted as saying by the Express.
The F1 legend has shown that diversity at Buckingham Palace is a huge event for all people around the world. It was wonderful to see the variety of music, choir and priests at St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle. Hamilton also hailed the California royals as a power couple and their wedding as a fairytale.
Meanwhile, a lot has changed in the royal family since the iconic wedding. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are no longer members of the royal family. After less than two years of marriage, they parted ways with the institution to live private lives in California. In the past two months, the pair have released six Netflix and Spare documentary series to highlight the company and British media atrocities that forced them to leave the country.
