In an interview with Laverne Cox on the red carpet, Glover was asked if he was working on new music after graduating from Atlanta. “I’m into music now,” he replied. “I love it. I’m in the studio, bringing people, secret people, and working on things.
“But right now I’m just doing it for fun. But something will happen soon, I promise. Something is going to happen.”
Cox then clarified whether the music would be released under the Childish Gambino moniker, noting that she had heard the name had been dropped. “No, no, no, it was in the spirit,” Glover said. “There’s nothing to worry about. He will come back.
Glover told fans during a performance at the Governors Ball festival in New York in 2017, “I’ll see you on the last Gambino album.” Shortly afterward, in an interview, he explained his decision, saying, “There’s nothing more bad of a third sequel, third movie and we’re like “Again?” You know, I love when something’s good and when it comes. back, there’s a reason to go back, there’s a reason to do it.’

In 2019, however, he slightly abandoned his decision. “I think I will still play. I’m not too sure,” he said during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!. “I really love making music.”
In March 2022, he revisited the TV show with another update of new music. “I make a lot of music,” he said. “I really enjoy doing it; I’ve made a bunch of it. It’s just about living it in the moment.”
Glover’s last full-length release, titled Kid’s Gambino, was released in 2020 with the album “3.15.20”. In a four-star review, NME wrote: “The impressive ‘3.15.20’ is worth the wait – fingers crossed then that it doesn’t succumb to its previous elusiveness and take the record.” down again.”
