“Keith Richards of The Rolling Stones Announces New Music is Coming”

It’s been a long time coming, but the Rolling Stones are finally ready to share new music with the world. After months of anticipation, guitarist Keith Richards confirmed on Instagram that new music is on the way. He also revealed that the band’s touring drummer Steve Jordan will be helping to finish the album, with the late Charlie Watts’ drumming featured alongside Jordan’s. Along with the new music, the Stones have also announced the release of a live album and accompanying DVD concert film, titled “GRRR Live!” The show was originally broadcast as a pay-per-view event in December 2012, and will now be available to watch online for the first time in over a decade. Fans of the legendary rock band can look forward to a new era of music and visuals from the Rolling Stones.

The Rolling stones guitarist Keith Richards confirmed on Instagram that “new music is on the way.”

Today (January 11), Richards posted a short video on her account to share the news. “Hey guys, here we are again,” he said.

“I wish you all a belated Happy New Year and there will be new music soon and we hope to see you. Fingers crossed.”

Last summer, the guitarist spoke with Matt Wilkinson in The Rolling Stones: 60th Anniversary special show on Apple Music 1 and shared that he is “hopeful” the band will have new material recorded by the end of the year.

“Anyway, I’m just making notes and then we figure out how they come out, right? That’s what I’m doing,” he said, noting that he wasn’t sure if the new songs would be available on streaming platforms.

Richards previously confirmed that The rolling stones’ touring drummer Steve Jordan will help the band finish work on the new album. Jordan began playing drums in the Stones after the death of their long-time drummer Charlie Watts in August 2021, and before his death Watts supported him.

Meanwhile, in October, guitarist Ronnie Wood announced that the band’s new album would be released this summer and would feature some of Watts’ drumming alongside Jordan’s work.

Last month, The Rolling Stones announced a new live album and accompanying DVD concert film called “GRRR Live!”.

The show, which took place in December 2012 in Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, was originally broadcast as a pay-per-view event by The Rolling Stones: One More Shot. It was known for its long list of special guests, including Lady Gaga, The Black Keys, Bruce Springsteen and more.

It has now been remixed and edited for a new release to be released in February on three-album vinyl and two-album CD. “GRRR Live!” will also be released on DVD and Blu-Ray.

On February 2 2023, the entire show will be broadcast online via Kiswe, which will be available to watch for the first time in over a decade. Tickets are available here.
