Manchester United Women produced a stunning performance to beat Liverpool 6-0 in the WSL at Leigh Sports Village. United opened the scoring after just six minutes with a brilliant finish from Lucia Garcia before Tune found Russo in the box and coolly slotted the ball into the corner to double their lead. Millie Turner had some good headers in defense to keep the Reds at bay and just before half-time Haley Ladd scored to make it 3-0. Thomas made an immediate impression when a beautiful piece of team football saw Toon balance her to blast past the keeper and Zelem took a free kick for Williams to head home. United kept the pressure on until the very end and it was an impressive win for them, putting them ahead of Arsenal in second place. The match was witnessed by a record 7,666 crowd, who were treated to a scintillating display of football from the Red Devils.

United doubled their lead in the 25th minute when Tune found Russo in the box and coolly slotted the ball into the corner.
Liverpool were still not beaten though and a long effort was thwarted by Earps rolling in ready to tip it over the bar and thankfully it didn’t go down quickly enough.
Millie Turner had some good headers in defense so there was no threat at the back.
After the Liverpool attack, United were able to counter-attack and some brilliant play down the left wing led to the fact that Tune had a chance to make it three, but it was over the bar.
But United continued the pressure and just before half-time Haley Ladd scored.
The second half started with an early corner for the Reds, but Garcia missed the target.
Liverpool had a couple of half-chances but one was well blocked by Battle and Earps comfortably won the second.
United were again trying to find a way through Liverpool’s defense and their fourth shot came from a corner which Liverpool had initially saved. When he returned, Turner was able to make contact with him and push him through the gate.
