Speaking about the song, Gallagher said: “For this new record, it was the first thing I wrote, the first thing I demoed, and the first thing I finished, so it’s only right that it’s the first thing people hear.
“Huge kudos to my main man Johnny Marr for taking this somewhere special. Oh…and watch out for my cameo in the video…the first one to spot me will get a Flamin’ Hot Wotsits Giants pack!!
The artist previously explained that the following NGHFB 2017 album “Who Built The Moon?” it has a mostly “orchestral” sound. “There’s a song on the album called ‘Dead To The World’, it’s one of the best songs I’ve ever written,” he said.
In another interview, he revealed that he impersonated David Bowie while working on tracks for the album, saying that for the song “Pretty Boy” “I sat up late at night singing [Bowie’s] voice: “If this song sounds like David Bowie, then I’ll sing like David Bowie until I write it.”
