Based on the web novel of the same name, MBC’s Forbidden Marriage is a romantic drama starring Kim Yong Dae as King Yi Hong, who falls into deep despair after the death of his wife and ends up banning marriages in his kingdom. Seven years after losing his wife (played by IZ*ONE’s Kim Min-joo), who was then the crown princess, he meets a con artist named So Rang (Park Joo-hyun) who claims that she may be possessed by the spirit of the late princess.

In the last episode, Lee Shin Won (Kim Woo Seok) was injured by a poisonous needle and suffered a serious shoulder blade injury. As if the incident had led to a firm decision, Lee Shin Won decides to pack his things and leave the palace.
After To Lee Shin Won leaving the palace, recently released footage captured his tense meeting with So Rang and Yi Heon in Aedaldang. So Rang and Lee Shin Won meet first and share a brief moment of silence, but quickly put their complicated feelings aside to have a friendly chat. However, Seo Rang can’t hide her shock at Lee Shin Won’s unexpected comment and finds herself in a difficult position.
Lee Shin Won’s continued confessions leave So Rang even more shocked and disappointed and lost. What secret has Lee Shin Won been hiding and how will it affect their relationship in the future?
After changing, Yi Heon discovers that So Rang is at Aedaldang and heads inside when he hears a conversation between her and Lee Shin Won. When the three characters eventually cross paths, the waves of emotion between them spiral out of control, leaving a cold and rigid tension in the air.
