How did Zamanguni Gumede die?

The mother of Gqom star Mandlenkosi “Mampintsha’ Maphumulo, Zamanguni Gumede (64) has died after being hospitalized at Wentworth Hospital from a stroke following the untimely death of his musician son in December.

Pinky Gumede, Mampintsha’s sister, informed Daily Sun that she died unexpectedly. She claims to have visited her during the day.

pinky said

“When I dropped her off, she looked fine. He even told us jokes and we all laughed. So when I left her she was in good spirits and I really thought she was getting better.

However, this was not to be as she was called back to the hospital hours later.

She explained,

“I was just about to sleep when I got a call from the hospital. I was told to rush to her bed because she wanted to see us. When I got there, she was already on drips, surrounded by doctors and nurses trying to help her.

“Now that she’s gone, I see she wanted to say goodbye to us. She told me she was old and was leaving. She asked if everyone was around and I said yes. She wanted to see Sponge, Mampintsha’s son, and I told her he wasn’t around. I could see the sadness in her eyes but she said nothing. She gave us her blessings and we spent some time with her. After that we left. Around 10:00 pm I got a call that she was dead.

“I’m definitely not coping, it’s a double-edged sword for me. I lost two important people within three weeks. But what makes it even more difficult is that we were not financially prepared for it. As far as policies go, Mampintsha has taken care of everything. We were still trying to sort things out, but I guess time was not on our side.”

Zamanguni Gumede, Mampintsha’s mother, was reportedly in hospital after suffering a stroke. This comes after Big Nuz member Mandla ‘Mampintsha’ Maphumulo was buried by his grieving mother in December. Mampintsha suffered a stroke just before he died.

Pinky Gumede, Mampintsha’s sister, informed the media that her mother had liver problems since 2016 and that her son’s death had worsened them.

She said,

“She does not take Mandla’s death well. She started feeling sick before him, but it got worse when he was first admitted to the hospital.

“The doctor says her liver is affected and she has also been diagnosed with a stroke. But her stroke isn’t bad, she won’t be disabled if she takes her meds. She can’t eat properly and it affects how she takes her medication.

Pinky went on to say that Zamanguni needs admission to a private hospital and a psychologist to help her deal with the trauma. She made an appeal for the need for help to the population. Pinky claims that she and her family were “too scared” to ask Babes’ family for help.

After her husband’s death, recordings of Babes performing in nightclubs and her live shows on social media shot up the trending charts. Timeline is circulating a recording of Babes’ purported WhatsApp status, which appears to show CCTV footage from her house.

She said,

“I know the doctor and nurses are doing everything to save her but my wish is to move her to a private hospital”

“I don’t have the money to do this. I am appealing to the public to help me so that I can provide her with the best treatment.”

Sadly, Zamanguni Gumede passed away.

Who was Zamanguni Gumede?

Zamanguni Gumede was the mother of the famous musician Mampintsha.

Mampintsha is a producer and recording artist from Umrazi, South Africa. He also created the musical ensemble Big Nuz. Thanks to the numerous hits he has produced for Kwaito, Mampintsha has gained national prominence. Mampintsha often makes news headlines for the wrong reasons because of the people he is involved with. According to accounts from Zalebs, he is currently 40 years old. After releasing his debut album Zozo in 2006 and signing with Gallo Records, Big Nuz continued his career working with musicians such as Kid Mokoena of Why Not Entertainment. Gallo Records came under fire for mismanagement after the record failed to perform to the sales department’s expectations.

Mampintsha was hospitalized two weeks ago after suffering a stroke. Dogg Dbn, his former manager, claimed that the musician’s condition had deteriorated over time before his death.

Mampintsha died on Christmas Eve.
