“Rio Ferdinand Slams Erik Ten Haag for Insulting Harry Maguire”

Introduction: Harry Maguire, the Manchester United captain, has been facing a difficult campaign at Old Trafford. Rio Ferdinand voiced his disapproval of Erik ten Haga’s treatment of Maguire, as the manager continuously chose Luke Shaw as a central defender instead of the United captain. Maguire’s impressive performances at the World Cup were not enough to regain his place in the team, and Ten Hag has opted to show up to Varan in the matches against Nottingham Forest and Wolverhampton Wanderers. Ferdinand believes that Maguire should leave Manchester United, as he is not being respected by the manager. Maguire has been linked with a move to Aston Villa, but he has since decided to stay at Old Trafford until the end of the season.

The former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has criticized Erik ten Haga for his treatment of club captain Harry Maguire.

Ferdinand did not agree with the fact that Ten Hag repeatedly chose Luke Shaw as a central defender instead of Maguire.

Maguire has had a difficult campaign at Old Trafford. He lost his place in the team and the United boss preferred the partnership of Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane.

Maguire’s scintillating performances at the World Cup weren’t enough to ensure his reinstatement as a starter in Ten Haga’s eyes.

It has become clear that the United captain has fallen out of the pecking order after Ten Hag opted to show up to Varan in the matches against Nottingham Forest and Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Speaking on his YouTube channel Vibe with Five via The Mirror, Ferdinand said he would be offended if he were Maguire.

The six-time Premier League winner observed: “If you’re him, you’ve got to leave now. Instead, Luke Shaw plays as a central defender. It’s like when I come back after the World Cup, I play well, everyone says “He did really well” and [then] Patrice Evra plays central defender.

“I would like to strangle Patrice! I’d bump Patrice into training to make sure he wasn’t available and I’d go to the manager and say, ‘Are you mad at me boss?’

“I’d go straight to the manager’s office and say, ‘You don’t respect me.'” Harry Maguire needs to move. I think he stays because of the games and they can’t attract anyone else. He plays in cup matches.”

True to Ferdinand’s words, Maguire seems to have been forced to play cup games.

He was in action last night when red devils beat Charlton Athletic to reach the semi-finals of the League Cup.

The 29-year-old has recently been linked with a move to Aston Villa and he and his agent were even photographed in a hotel near Villa’s training ground.

However, those ties have ended and the defender intends to stay Old Trafford at least until the end of the season.
