The Hideout complements Bad Boy Chiller Crew’s busy festival itinerary, whose 2021 Reading & Leeds show marked one of their biggest shows to date. “There is no difference between the band and their audience,” NME wrote of Reading and Leeds’ performance in a four-star review. “Almost anyone in the tent could get on stage and look at home – perhaps that’s why their sense of freedom was received so enthusiastically.”
Bad Boy Chiller Crew’s latest mixtape, “Disrespectful”, was released last February, when NME wrote in a four-star review that the project “reveals [the band’s] strength not only in the recording booth, but also on stage, in competition. track and dance floor”.
In an interview with NME in 2021, the band described “Disrespectful” as “braver, funkier” and “devilishly homey”. The project was among the best EPs and mixtapes of 2022 according to NME.
