Hussaini Shaibu, a theater professional, announced his death on Sunday through his Twitter account.
He wrote: “I have just been reliably informed that Ethnomusicologist, former music instructor with #NATIONALTROUPE and one time standing in for the character ‘Papa Ajasco’ in the popular #waleadenugaprod comic series ‘Papa Ajasco’ Mr. Femi Ogunrombi is dead. “I am told that the actor, singer, accent and trained nurse we fondly called ‘Uncle Ogurombo’ (but not for his hearing) died tonight (Saturday)” |

Cause of death
Although the details given by Hussaini were quite scarce, he did, however, confirm that the seasoned thespian passed away on Saturday, January 14, 2023.
At this point it is not known what exactly led to his death apart from the confirmation of his death and the exact cause of Femi’s death Ogunrombi was also not released.

Who was Femi Ogunrombi?
He has been a multi-instrumentalist, composer, music and film director and voice coach. Ogunrombi was well known for his role in Wale Adenuga’s Papa Ajasco comedy series.

Until recently, he played the famous comic character, Papa Ajasco, on television and was the Director of Research at the Pencil Film and Television Institute, Lagos. He has more than three decades of experience as a musicologist.
