Ville Valo’s musical journey continues with the launch of his new solo project, VV. On January 13th and 14th, Valo performed at two concerts in Helsinki, Finland, showcasing a range of new and classic compositions from the HIM catalog. Fans were treated to 18 songs, including nine from his debut VV album ‘Neon Noir’ and other HIM tracks like ‘The Funeral of Hearts’, ‘Right Here in My Arms’, ‘Butterfly Wings’ and ‘Poison Girl’. After the show in Helsinki, Valo will embark on a European and Great Britain tour, before heading to North America. The tour promises to be an exciting one, as it will feature a mix of classic HIM tracks and new songs from ‘Neon Noir’. Valo has stated that the album was written during the pandemic and that it has heavily impacted him emotionally. He has also shared the advice Ozzy Osbourne gave him on how to get an audience moving. As for the future of HIM, Valo has hinted at the possibility of a reunion, saying that if all of a sudden everyone starts reaching out to each other, it would be the best thing. The former HIM At the concert, frontman Vile Valo officially presented his new solo project VV. He played in Helsinki, Finland, on Friday (January 13) and yesterday (January 14) and performed a range of new and classic compositions from the HIM catalog at both concerts.
Valo performed 18 songs at the first two concerts in Helsinki — the third is also scheduled for tonight (January 15) — performing nine of the 12 songs from his debut VV album ‘Neon Noir’, as well as HIM tracks such as ‘The Funeral’ of Hearts’, ‘Right Here in My Arms’, ‘Butterfly Wings’ and ‘Poison Girl’.
After today’s concert in Helsinki, Valjo will embark on a big one “Neon Noir” tour of the rest of Europe and Great Britain. The race will resume in mid-February and run through mid-March before he heads to North America.

Speaking to NME earlier this week, Valo explained this “Neon Noir” was written during the pandemic, which, he said, “hit me hard emotionally.” Speaking about the state he was in during the trial, he said: “I wouldn’t call it clinical depression. I come from the country [Finland] which has a strange history with some rather gloomy people… it’s probably because of the very dark winters.’

Regarding the potential collection of HIM, Valo recently hinted at the possibility, saying in an interview: “HIM were so much more than just a band to me. If there was a good reason or a good idea or a good reason or if all of a sudden everyone started reaching out to each other, I think that would be the best thing.
