MOTOMAMI was released in March 2022. NME praised the album in a five-star review upon its release, calling it “an electrifying left-brain brainchild” that contains “some of the most exciting, visionary and confusing compositions in music”. we’ll probably be listening to it all year long.
“Rosalia is not so much paving its way as building its own ultra-modern, super-flexible sonic highway,” it concludes. “It’s one you’ll want to throw on over and over again.” NME later named the album the ninth best album of 2022.
In September, Rosalia released a deluxe edition of “Motomami” with the July single “Despecha”, four previously unreleased songs, a remix of the album track “Candy” and a live version of “La Fama”. In November, Rosalia participated in the Latin Grammys, and last month she partnered with Cardi B for a new remix of “Despechá”. Last week, she shared a snippet of a new song called “Lie Like You Love Me,” which is set to be released on January 27.
