West Ham appoint Scott McTominay as Declan Rice’s long-term replacement ⋆ Somag News

West Ham have nominated Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay as a possible replacement for Declan Rice.

Rice is likely to leave London Stadium at the end of the season.

A recent report stated that Rice is the subject of interest from a number of English clubs, including Arsenal, Chelsea and United.

The Englishman is at the top of Mikel Arteta’s wish list ahead of next summer.

United are also reported to have “laid the foundations” for a possible move for the West Ham captain to Old Trafford.

The London club appear to have softened their initial stance and have now reduced their asking price for Rice.

West Ham will need around €70 million to part with Rice.

According to West Ham Central, via a relatively reliable ExWHUE official, West Ham could turn to McTominay to replace Rice.

The United player will be Rice’s long-term replacement.

McTominay has attracted a lot of interest this month as his fortunes at Old Trafford appear to have gone awry.

The 26-year-old was reduced to a cameo role, and Erik ten Hag preferred the midfield support of Casemiro and Christian Eriksen.

Whenever a midfield change was made, Ten Hag most often called on Fred rather than McTominay.

Newcastle are a known fan of the United Academy graduate along with other Premier League clubs such as Everton, Leicester City and Southampton. ‘

However, Ten Hag is said to appreciate McTominay and considers him an important player in his team. United have also dismissed any inquiries about McTominay.
