Manchester United have been linked with a January raid on Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans.
The Belgian is out of contract in the summer and he could be available for a cut-price deal before the transfer window closes.
And given that the Red Devils lack strength in midfield depth, Tielemans could be a great addition.
Christian Eriksen was noticeably tired towards the end of the game as the games pile up and Erik ten Hag’s system is heavily reliant on the Dane to progress the ball from deep.
While Casemiro impresses with his range of passing, Scott McTominay and Fred are unlikely to replace Eriksen as his partner.
Tielemens could come into the team in that number eight role, giving Eriksen or Bruno Fernandes a rest, and the Dane could play the number ten role.
Earlier this week, journalist Thomas Alencar suggested a move was possible this month, tweeting the following:
United are interested in Tielemans. No offer yet. The interest comes from the scouting team and the club’s sporting director.
“The Belgian is one of the options in January after van de of Beek injury.”

O interesse parte da equipe de olheiros eo diretor esportivo do clube. O belga é uma das possibilites em janeiro depois da lesão do van de Beek.

The proposition that To Donny van de Beek A late-season injury could prompt United to take action this term sounds pretty plausible, but Old Trafford’s austerity policy this month doesn’t look set to change any time soon.
In an interview with Give Me Sport, CBS journalist Ben Jacobs believes the end of Arsenal’s pursuit could mean a move to United.
“We know that Manchester United has been interested in Tielemans for a long time,” he said. “But Tielemans wasn’t so sold on the moment that he thought Arsenal were also playing very seriously at the table and could move a bit faster.
“Now that Manchester United are flying on the football pitch, it will be interesting to see if that changes anything in Tielemans’ perception of Manchester United.
Whether or not the player will be happy to join will of course be moot if United can’t even afford the knock-down price that Tielemans would be available for.
But if United can free up funds, the Belgian could be a good addition to The Hague’s squad.
